Fieldway was appointed by Transport for Greater Manchester to provide fire alarm and emergency lighting servicing and maintenance as part of a wider M&E contract.
The programme covered 28 fully operational bus depots, office buildings and bus stations across Manchester, and included aspirating smoke detectors (ASDs), intruder alarms, PA systems, door entry systems and AOVs.

Fieldway scheduled servicing around certificate expiry dates and coordinated access with depot managers and site teams, with the dedicated works coordinator contacting individual sites seven days before appointments. Asset condition information was also used to optimise engineer van stock, supporting first-time fixes and reducing the need for temporary solutions.
Challenges
Coordinating planned servicing across multiple operational transport sites requires careful planning and communication.
