Our History

Launched in 2003, Concept has grown into a multi-national maintenance and refurbishment provider with strategic locations across the UK, enabling us to provide trusted, locally sourced services, with a global reach.

2003

Concept was formed.

2004

• The Midhurst office was opened.
• A relationship was established with the BBC Research & Development Centre, working through Interserve.

2010

The London office was opened, with a strategic focus on growing our Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) capability.

2011

Concept delivered its first project for the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) in The Hague (Netherlands), marking the establishment of our dedicated FCDO division.

2014

• The Portsmouth office was opened, and operational staff relocated from Midhurst.
• The Exeter office was opened.
• The Worcester office was opened.

2015

The Southampton office was opened as a dedicated M&E hub to support the wider business.

2019

The Darlington office was opened.

2020

The Gatwick office was opened.

2021

The Portsmouth Naval Dockyard office was opened.

2022

The Ascension Island business was formed.

2023

Concept surpassed £50m in turnover.

2025

• Concept surpassed £84m in turnover.
• H.I.G. acquired Concept, and the business joined Axis CLC.
