Our History

Established in 1999, Fieldway has grown into a leading provider of compliance, maintenance and specialist contracting services. Built on quality workmanship, trusted partnerships and exceptional service, we continue to invest in our people, our communities and the long-term success of our clients.

1999 – 2008

1999: Brian Murphy set up Fieldway, operating as a sole trader

2006: Fieldway is incorporated.

In the same year the business is awarded its first fire alarm contract with Liverpool Housing Trust

2008: Tony Carden joins the business

2011

Fieldway continues its organic growth, winning additional contracts, leading to annual revenues more than £1m for the first time

2014 – 2016

The business secures a place on a framework for the first time. Its listing on the Fusion 21 framework enables Fieldway to compete for larger contracts held with housing associations and local authorities

In 2016, Tony Carden is appointed Managing Director as part of wider succession planning

2018

Secured private equity (PE) investment from Foresight helping to support Fieldway’s next phase of development

EBITDA exceeds £1m for the year

Fieldway is successful in joining two further frameworks, Reallies and Procure Plus

2019 – 2020

Chris Hatton (FD) joins the business

Fieldway joined the Procurement for Housing framework

2020- 2021

Following an initial 3-month shutdown from March 2020 as a result of COVID-19 lockdowns, the business resumed operations, with revenues remaining resilient throughout the pandemic

Fieldway expanded its geographic reach, providing services in the Midlands and London region

2022

Fieldway joined the EEM framework

Commencement of the PTOL contract, worth c. £6-7m, delivering project management across a multidisciplinary delivery team

2023

Commencement of the Johnnie Johnson compartmentation contract worth c.£6m across a four-year period

2024

Consolidation of activity within the Midlands and the South East with new contracts such as Redditch BC & St Mungos

Delivery of Wigan Council HRB Fire Safety Project

2025

Launch of Fieldway Consulting division

Revenue exceed £18m

Fieldway has delivered fire safety programmes across social housing for over 25 years, including a £4m upgrade to seven high-rise blocks for Wigan Council and an £11m scheme across nine blocks for Pendleton Together. Every project is planned around residents, keeping homes safe and habitable throughout the work.
